Thanks for posting this Alice! I too have many deep seated and conflicting emotions about any war, but speaking from personal experience, it is unfortunately a very ugly, yet necessary reality in a complicated world.

They are there facing death and brutal realities every day, just as any troops do, and have to live with it when they return.

And the civilians that are psychologically damaged, killed and maimed are also another ugly fact of war that is the reality in an imperfect world.
